About

I study what happens when education and work fit each other badly — why graduates end up in jobs below their qualifications, what it costs them, and what it costs everyone else.

My research sits in applied economics of education and labour markets. Recurring questions: how fields of study shape early careers, why some graduates regret the programme they chose, whether entrepreneurial skills pay off in wage employment, and how overeducation spills into life outside work — job satisfaction, and the time parents spend with their children.

Most of this work is comparative and empirical, drawing on European graduate surveys and Spanish microdata. I have also written on housing markets and fiscal policy with colleagues at Tecnocampus.

I hold a PhD in Political and Social Sciences from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2009, excellent cum laude) and an MA in Quantitative Methods and Information Systems from the Warsaw School of Economics. I have taught at Tecnocampus since 2011, and previously at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya and the Warsaw School of Economics.
